Gaz System to Consolidate Polish Gas Infrastructure
Poland's gas transmission operator, Gaz System, is acquiring Gas Storage Poland, the country's gas storage operator. This move strengthens Gaz System's control of strategic energy infrastructure and streamlines gas storage management under state ownership.
The acquisition, subject to regulatory approval, aims to improve cooperation between transmission and storage, enhancing gas supply security and storage utilization.
Gaz System's environmental permit for its floating LNG terminal in the Gulf of Gdansk allows them to proceed with construction. Minimizing environmental impact is a priority, including trenchless pipeline installation and a carefully chosen offshore location.
This project, along with existing LNG infrastructure and pipeline expansion plans, positions Gaz System as a key player in Poland's natural gas future.
