Qatar and Nakilat Partner for Largest LNG Fleet Expansion Deal
QatarEnergy, a major LNG producer, and Nakilat, a renowned shipping company, have signed a record-breaking agreement for 25 newbuild LNG carriers, boosting Qatar's position as a global energy leader.
QatarEnergy charters 25 new LNG vessels from Nakilat, expanding its fleet to over 100 ships.
These vessels, built in South Korea, will support expansion projects and replace existing infrastructure.
The deal follows QatarEnergy's successful 2022 agreements for 60 LNG ships.
Qatar secured major LNG offtake deals with India, China, and others, solidifying its market position.
North Field expansions will increase Qatar's production capacity to 126 million tons per annum by 2026.
