TotalEnergies Acquires Talos' CCS Unit, Eyes US Decarbonization
TotalEnergies is acquiring Talos Low Carbon Solutions (TLCS) for $148 million, gaining a 25% stake in the major Bayou Bend CCS project on the Texas Gulf Coast.
The project captures and stores CO2 from industrial emitters, strategically located near TotalEnergies' existing assets. This acquisition aligns with their Net Zero by 2050 goals.
TotalEnergies also plans to divest interests in two other CCS projects acquired through TLCS.
Separately, TotalEnergies joined an international coalition to develop e-natural gas (e-NG), a synthetic fuel made from renewable hydrogen and CO2.
